The Accomplished Culmination

Lotus Vancouver exterior.

Emira. This is the most accomplished Lotus ever. This is the culmination of a storied history of success and innovation. This is not just another sportscar, it is THE other. Lotus Cars’ new mid-engine sportscar boldly and seamlessly embodies the brand’s ongoing transformation. The bold design inspired by the Evija hypercar peers into an exciting future, while the dynamics and character of an archetypal driver’s car proudly cherishes and presents the best of what is and will become timeless for enthusiasts. Lotus Car’s final internal combustion engine vehicle is an instant classic and is among the most pure and passionate creations made For The Drivers.

Two engines are available for the Emira at launch and output between 360 – 400 bhp. The loved and characterful 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine from the preceding Evora and Exige is mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, and a punchy and advanced 2.0-litre turbocharged I4 from Mercedes-AMG, which will be available solely with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. ‘First Edition’ cars will only be available with the V6 engine, while subsequent production will have the I4 available as a future option for owners. In its lightest form, the Emira will weigh just over 1,400 kg, 0 – 100 km/h will take less than 4.5 seconds, and top speeds will reach up to 290 km/h. Emira uses communicative and intuitive hydraulic steering and will have two defined chassis and suspensions settings at launch. The options include, ‘Tour’ for optimal everyday driving comfort and usable sporing performance, and ‘Sports’ which will have stiffer suspension and the available Lotus Drivers Pack.

Though only available with two seats, overall interior space is roomier than the preceding Evora and most drivers over six feet tall will be able to fit comfortably. Interior ergonomics are further honed from earlier models with even greater steps made in materials used, storage space, fit and finish, and available technology. The wraparound design of the dashboard gives a comfortable driver-centric feel as soon as they settle into the cozy and supportive seat. Both the multi-adjustable standard and premium sport seats offer ample and thoughtful support for relaxed driving, while offering assuring and cosseting support should you take a sporting drive on a curvy road or track. Emira’s infotainment system will integrate Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard, while all other information and settings are approachably integrated and accessible through a centrally mounted touch-screen and TFT driver’s display.

Canadian pricing for the Emira will be announced soon. Contact us to learn more and keep checking back in for more details to come.
